at the airport on my way home from singapore….shooting done…work starts tomorrow on the edit!

something i wanted to discuss….

every morning at breakfast here i’d see several men with women 1/2 their ages who were obviously not their wives!?! short skirts, hard faces lined with makeup, tacky tights and no conversations between them EVER! the hotel staff looked the other way…i however did not! this behaviour raised questions for me…

the casual way they all entered the bfast restaurant made me realise this has happened before….many times! do they hire by the hour/ night on every ‘business trip?’

are these men quiet and boring at home…does this make them feel more manly?

does the guilt disappear after the first time u cheat on ur wife?

do their wives know/ guess?

do they care?

so my back’s out and my body has packed up! that’s the annoying part…as i near the end of a shoot schedule my body packs up and come thursday- i have to edit like crazy to ensure that we’re on schedule and the episodes look great!

so suddenly i have to listen to my body…walk in flats, focus on my health and kill the pain with good pain killers!

i guess i’m lucky that my body gives me these signals rather than just a sudden shutdown!

this is the tough part of adem/ ms….. some days i don’t get to feel my age….i feel a heck of alot older and not much wiser….but then again how many people can empathise with their grandmom!

i mean when she says i have leg pain—i say yup i know how u feel!!!!

i can even swap good antioxidants and meds! haha!

gotta keep laughing cos with this pain all i can do is type the laughter and the smilies!

on my way back from an incredible shoot for the finale of mtv making the cut!!! we’re in australia and we ended this shoot and even started a recce and discussion for another tv show in australia….despite being travel fanatics -the sun, sea and easiness in australia makes it wonderful.

the airports though are a different story. i have met atlease 10 people who racially profile, make racist jokes and are downright pig-headed idiots who cannot see beyond the colour of ur skin and if u think 10 is barely anything to write home about–let me assure u it takes just one person for you to change your opinion of a day, of a shoot location, of ur trip and of a country!

u’d think with all the talk of racism and racial profiling people might start watching their racist backs!

the most ironic was when a gentlemen of an obvious minority race group racially profiled aditya and called him in for ‘ a random check!’ wow….

after 2 sets of being racially profiled in a span of 5 minutes , i actually had to say — ” wow, so this is what they call being a racist….” aditya was quickly released but i doubt the small, pig -headed idiot learnt his lesson….

he’ll still racially profile another indian…. but guess what buddy- india is here to stay and we have tons of problems and many issues…but atleast we’re not a bunch of racist bigots!

missing home and i’m still here,

everyones planning their futures- the future is so near,

planning without me, it’s like i’m not even there…

and i can’t believe i’m sad- it’s not like they don’t care!

i’m going on a trip to work and have fun,

after all me and my work…we are joint as one,

and yet i can’t wait till i get re included in their plan

can’t wait till with them i too can plan…

cos without those you care about , no work , no life , no dream can be worthwhile,

so i’m going happily – but i can’t wait to come back to your smile!

gonna miss u cooka,ma, achan, niki, viv,champ, su, krits, bob, hemanth, spandana, koks….

This shouldn’t have been it…the world lost out on great , great talent. I went to see ‘This is it!’ yeaterday…a concert that I meant to see when returning from Edinburgh. Oh I knew I’d see fantastic songs while watching the movie but what I didn’t realise was that Michael was the genius…you always heard about him having great music directors, musicians etc…but what nobody knew was this man was a one man talent factory himself. i watched amazed as he directed a music video with a lollipop in his mouth, he taught the guitarist which note to play and how he repeated to the crew…” let’s do this again…that’s why we have rehearsal…”

I cried…I laughed…I  sang along and went home humming…the film was unremarkable but the man was a legend…even through the rehearsal takes you could see glimpses of the MJ whose video was awaited on MTV on the day of release…the MJ who had millions screaming his name across the world…the MJ whose concert I watched in Mumbai with tears streaming down my face…

A simple film about a genius.
